About

The Buttcracker: A Nutcracker Burlesque premiered December 5th, 2016 at Uptown Underground with original story written by Jaq Seifert, and original directing and choreography by Foxie Le Fluer, co-produced with The Cuckoo’s Theater Project. Much to our surprised, the show sold out, and then returned in 2017 for five nights, which sold out again. In 2018, the show moved to Reggies Rock Club for five nights and again, sold out. In 2019 we moved to The Den’s Heath Main stage, which fits over 285 audience members, and again enjoyed sold out performances. In 2020 we produced an online variety show to celebrate our fifth year, but took a hiatus in 2021. In 2022 the show returned to live audiences under the direction of our 2019 Drosselmeyer, Miguel Long, and a five-week run with 17 performances and over 2300 audience members in attendance. Over the course of six years, thousands of audience members have enjoyed this witty, campy, alternative re-telling of the holiday classic, and we are thrilled to return in 2023 to the Greenhouse Theater Center.
